Aetheric Tides
A downloadable game for Windows, macOS, Linux, and Android
The Aetheric Tides do not care for winds. They wash through forgotten regions, dragging up things that learn.
Aetheric Tides is a single-player deckbuilding roguelike set in a fading arcane world. Travel between procedural regions, fight intelligent monsters, and watch your deck slowly become a mirror of the choices you make.
This is a small, handcrafted game — no microtransactions, no accounts, no telemetry. Just you, the cards, and the tides.
Features
- Living deck. Your cards don't just grow stronger — they change. Show mercy too often and your blades grow reluctant. Embrace wrath and even your healing cards begin to bite.
- Four moral currents. Mercy, Wrath, Curiosity, Sacrifice. Every battle, every rest, every ritual nudges the balance and rewrites what your deck wants to do.
- Monsters that learn. Each enemy has a personality — aggressive, tactical, chaotic, ritualistic, adaptive — and a memory of how you fought it. Stall too long and the tactical ones will counter your strategy. Burst too hard and the adaptive ones will brace.
- Three-room library. Manage your cards in a dedicated workspace: an active deck for battle, a storage shelf for cards you want to keep but not draw, and an alchemy table where any three cards can be transmuted into a single, stronger one.
- Procedural regions. Each run weaves a new map of biomes — fights, rests, mysterious encounters and forbidden rituals.
- Modular AI. Three internal designers (a creator, a tuner, and a balancer) collaborate to make every encounter feel hand-built rather than rolled.
- Manuscript aesthetic. Dark parchment, Cormorant Garamond, no flashing UI, no emojis. Built to be read as much as played.
- Plays anywhere. Pure HTML. Works in any modern browser, online or offline. Saves locally — nothing leaves your machine.
Controls
Mouse or touch only. Click cards to play, drag cards to manage your library, click nodes to travel.
